چکیده

Background and aims Insufficient dietary fiber (DF) intake is associated with increased blood pressure (BP) the mode of action unclear. The DF supplements by participants in previous interventional studies was still far below amount recommended World Health Organization. Therefore, this study to explore effect supplementing relatively sufficient on BP gut microbiota patients essential hypertension (HTN). Methods results Fifty who met inclusion criteria were randomly divided into group (n = 25) control 25). All received education regular guidance for HTN. In addition guidance, one bag oat bran (30 g/d) supplement (containing 8.9 g) delivered group. office (oBP), 24 h ambulatory pressure, measured at baseline third month. After intervention, systolic (oSBP; P < 0.001) diastolic (oDBP; 0.028) lower than those Similarly, changes 24hmaxSBP (P 0.002), 24hmaxDBP 0.001), 24haveSBP 0.007), 24haveDBP 0.008) greater use antihypertensive drugs significantly reduced 0.021). ? diversity, including Jaccard Bray–Curtis distance 0.004), showed significant differences 0.05) between two groups Bifidobacterium 0.019) Spirillum 0.006) significant. Conclusions Increased (oat bran) improved BP, drugs, modulated microbiota. Trial registration number ChiCTR1900024055.
